Frequently Asked Questions.

What if I need to cancel?

If you cancel a booking the following conditions apply:

-Up to 8 weeks prior to start date a 10% booking fee will be withheld.

-Between 8 to 6 weeks prior to start date your deposit will be withheld.

-Less than 6 weeks prior to start date or during the program, the entire amount paid will be forfeited.

-You may find a substitute guest for your booking, as long as they meet the prerequisites for your trip and fit the group dynamic.

What if M-T-N cancels?

We almost never do. But, in the event of a program cancelation by M-T-N Guiding, rescheduling will be our first priority, if this cannot be achieved a full refund will be issued.

What if the weather or avalanche conditions aren’t good that day?

Conditions in the mountains are always changing. As a rule, we do not cancel due to weather or avalanche conditions, we simply adjust our trip or route accordingly. Our guides are trained to interpret and anticipate avalanche hazard and can almost always find trips with an appropriate safety margin.

What experience or skill level do I need?

M-T-N offers trips and courses for all ability levels. We happily take first-timers into the backcountry, ski with the pros and everyone in-between. Our goal will be to make sure you are on an appropriate trip with a crew that matches your ability and goals.

Should I have rescue insurance?

It is important to make sure your health and/or travel insurance will provide adequate coverage. Your national park entry pass will cover all backcountry rescue and evacuation costs in national parks. Ambulance rides are not covered however and all rescues outside of parks are at your own expense. There are many options out there, one you may want to check out is Global Rescue.
