All Season Long, Based out of Banff National Park

Let us show you the best lines in the mountains we live in. Powder turns, dramatic tours, peaks and/or steep lines; we'll plan a day to match your goals and make sure it’s one you’ll enjoy!

There are hundreds of possibilities in the Canadian Rockies. We’ll take you to the best skiing we can find on any given day. Our typical day starts with a meet up between 7-8am so sign waivers and discuss the day. Then a drive to our location where we gear up, go through a safety briefing and start touring. Steady uphills with fun downhills are broken up with snack/lunch breaks. Once we’ve had our fill, we head back to the vehicles happy and tired.

Possible locations:

Highway 93N: Pulpit Knob, Observation Peak, Cirque Peak, Crowfoot.

Highway 1: Surprise Pass, Sherbrooke Lake, Taylor Lake.

Kananaskis Country, Highway 93S, Lake Louise, etc, etc, etc.

The Gear You Need:

  • Back Pack (30-35L)

  • Skis/Board (Alpine touring, split-board or telemark)

  • Boots (ski/snowboard)

  • Skins

  • Poles

  • Avalanche Transceiver, Probe and Shovel

  • Appropriate Outerwear and Layers

A full gear list is mailed out upon booking. Anything you don’t have can be rented in Banff, Canmore, Lake Louise or Calgary.

Who Can Do This:

There are trips appropriate for any ability or experience level. Before your trip, your guide will discuss group abilities and fitness levels with you and then provide options. You do not need any prior training or credentials. At M-T-N we love skiing the most challenging lines in the Rockies, but we also love taking first-timers or beginners out and getting them hooked on the easy backcountry.

Safety:

Our guides are all certified by the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides and are Professional Members of the Canadian Avalanche Association. Safety is our number one priority. Hazards are discussed with clients in the morning meeting and all clients must go through a safety briefing before skiing with us, including avalanche safety and accident response. We are happy to discuss any safety concerns with you before or during your trip.
